Fedorov, who declined an offer to serve as deputy prime minister, insists that returning to his former role is crucial for advancing his vision of modernizing and reforming Ukraine’s armed forces.
Currently, the interim leadership of the defence ministry is held by special forces commander Yevhenii Khmara, creating a barrier to Fedorov’s potential return unless further changes are made. Protest organizers have vowed to continue demonstrations in Kyiv, aiming for Fedorov’s reinstatement, a move that has escalated the political tensions and raised concerns about the crisis extending into another week.
Concurrently, Ukraine has escalated its military efforts against Russia, conducting drone strikes on strategic military and economic sites within Russian territory. The newly appointed Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapatyi is charged with broadening offensive operations, enhancing military capabilities, and pursuing advancements in technology, while also focusing on expanding operations behind enemy lines.
